Clarice Bartel grew up in St. Charles Missouri and is currently a class of 2024 KCAI illustration student who is focused on children’s book illustration and is based out of Missouri. Her work has been shown in local St. Charles exhibitions and in Kansas City Missouri. Her Illustrations have also been recognized as an honorable mention in the 2023 3x3 Contemporary Illustration Magazine. She utilizes multimedia elements in her image fabrication and incorporates her sculptural work into the children’s book world. As a young artist, she found love and inspiration from the natural world around her. Her experiences from camping, hiking, her childhood backyard, and especially her pet rabbit Smokey have fostered many of the stories and images she pursues.
